Description
Inner Space - Trance of Thought was the first piece to be commissioned by the New Trombone Collective in 2001, for their debut concert. The work follows the process of a thought; how it presents itself, stagnates and evolves into a conviction. A thought often comes unannounced and places itself in your mind. Whether you want to or not, you have to familiarise yourself with this thought to make it your own truth. In Trance of Thought, thought has a rhythmic pattern; it keeps surfacing and imposing itself. This repetitive motive is the foundation of the beginning and the end. In between it often debates with itself, the thought is out to the test and compared with familiar truths and knowledge. When a reference is found, the 'strange' thought will be renewed and famiiarised as the truth. We are wiser.
